M.C. Ginsberg and UIHC Surgeon Print 3-D Hearts

Mark Ginsberg and Dr. Joseph Turek

The front page of The Press-Citizen this weekend featured a unique and innovative collaboration between Mark Ginsberg the owner of M.C. Ginsberg Objects of Art in Downtown Iowa City and Dr. Joseph Turek, a University of Iowa surgeon. The two are working together to use Ginsberg’s 3-D printers to develop photopolymer replicas of patient’s hearts to help doctors visualize and “pre-game” their surgeries—saving time, money and improving surgical outcomes. We love the continual stream of wicked cool projects coming out of M.C. Ginsberg’s maker space!

Inspiring work Mark and Joseph!
